Why change? It seems that the old covers didn’t fit the expectations for action/adventure covers in today’s market. They didn’t look like anything in the Amazon Top 100 A/A books list. Standing out is good, you say? So I thought, too. I’m told now that if the covers are too original, readers won’t be able to figure them out and will move on.
The proof will be the coming weeks. If sales pick up, this was a good move. If they don’t…well, we’ll cross that rickety bridge when we come to it.
